you don't watch that movie for the story or the characters, you watch it for the experience.
you gotta be in the right frame of mind to enjoy it, so if it doesn't engross you for whatever reason right now then there's no need to force it. it will be waiting for you when you're ready to tackle it again

But seriously do your best to watch the film. Call the weedman, meditate, something, this is easily one of the most unique films of all time and it has something everyone can take away from; good or bad.
If its that difficult, understandably, smoke a nice joint or a stiff drink without ice..sit back and indulge.
