The discrepancy in talent between the Warriors and the second best team in the league is greater than the discrepancy between the Cavs and the second best team in the East. The Warriors have a clear talent advantage over every other team in the league to the point where the result of the season is considered a foregone conclusion.
Who do you believe is the second-best team in the East, in terms of talent?
In the West, I'd say it's probably the Thunder (or even the Rockets):
Westbrook
PG
Melo
Are you telling me the talent margin between the Warriors and the Thunder is greater than the Cavs and every other team in the East? Wizards have Wall and Beal, Raptors have Lowry, DeRozan and Ibaka, Heat have Dragic and Whiteside. And forget the second best team(s), what about all the teams that the Warriors have to face: Thunder, Rockets and Spurs. Is there any group of teams in the East that are collectively better than those three?
You see how arguing over these minute differences of where the Warriors have the advantage and where the Cavs have the advantage goes against your argument, right? Because you're sitting here telling me that Durant going to GS upset the entire balance as if it were a crime against basketball, yet not even so much as blinked an eye with the moves that LeBron has done, when they've had
similar repercussions on the state of the league. Did you ever entertain the notion that LeBron's
decisions "negatively affected" the Eastern conference? It seems strange this has become a problem now, when prior to Durant going to GS it wasn't, when LeBron was sleepwalking to the Finals over and over (which again, I have ZERO issue with).
