WinXP SP3 is the best, most stable and most compatible OS Windows has ever made. Just having something because it's "new" doesn't mean shyt if it's not superior to what you already have.

I seriously don't remember anyone liking XP years ago because all the spyware and adware problems and windows firewall being easy to bypass.

But I guess I'm not remembering clearly or this is all retroactive championing :manny:

if you compare XP to win98....and especially the clusterfukk that win2000...its night and day...all cause microsoft realized to stop fukking around and use NT kernel.

95 and 98 were basically unsecure pieces of shyt which script kiddies of today would demolish in half an hour.

XP is still the most popular and stable consumer-based OS :manny:

win 2000 was cool.

Problem with win98 was IE was part of the shell thus exposing the backbone of the system. All of this was done to fight netscape.

Yea forreal. XP was cool and all but I remember that being the MOST vulnerable OS ever. I used have to fix horrifyingly slow computers due to a huge influx of Spyware/Adware.

I use XP in my a VM for apps that I don't want to touch my OS. Very solid and stable. I won't say it was always great, but now it's great for me cause I keep a pretty vanilla install.

THE GAMING MARKET HAS BEEN CARRYING HARDWARE FOR YEARS. THE AVERAGE USER DOESN'T NEED 1/4 OF THE POWER TODAY'S COMPUTERS PUT OUT.

no it wasmt. if you compare xp security and 98 security, its night and day

problem was xp was released when internet really started to get ubiquitous...and it was THE system...so people started to share vulnerabilities online and writing online spyware and shyt.

whereas in 95/98 era the viruses were all either programs that deleted shyt off your computer or big bulky trojans that people used to fukk with others online...also not that many copycats and script kiddies... back then there was less info about internet, computers and in general it was limited to fewer people.win98 had so many security problems itd get exposed in an hour today, I swear.

like, you could withhold a process name from task manager...at will :mindblown: so a virus could just chill somewhere you wouldnt ever see it without external tools or knowledge of programming.

take it from someone who was trying to be a script kiddie back then....those systems were definitely NOT as secure as XP.
