Yea, if you are working on a car assembly line you should be advancing your technical skills so you can move up or transition to a better job.

Particularly one less physically demanding.

I worked at a place where they could take your breaks and reduce your lunch from 60 to 30 mins mid-day depending on how busy it was. During the busy season, people would work 3 straight months, 8.5 hour shifts with a 30 min lunch and no breaks. It didn't apply to my role, but was crazy people had to live like that.

They also fought tooth and nail to keep people from WFH during COVID.
