CGI brainrot feels apparent going back to any 90s classic with low CGI usage

offbase like a mug lol, but i tried watching one of the more recent Jurassic park films and turned that shyt right off when the dinosaurs came up.

shyt looked so cheesy in its own right... let along compared to the initial film smh

The movie industry fell off.Average movies from back in the day look like classics compared to most of the shyt we get now.

I know some of these actors had bigger roles than others in this film, but that might be one best casts in movie history. If not, it's got to be Top 5.

The 60's and 70 you had the mega films like Longest Day How the West was Won and Tower Inferno which had iconic all-star casts. What about Godfather 1 and 2?

And while we are at it is that SPR cast better the Clooney and Pitt led Oceans films? :jbhmm:

I'd say yes they are because of how serious the acting performances were vs the lighthearted "let's get stars and have fun" casting of the oceans movies

Oppenheimer has a murderers row too, and will age even better as time goes on

I can't even remember this movie anymore.

I haven't watched or re-watched war or military based movies since my 1st deployment to Iraq.

Mafukkas ran war movies into the ground then.
Any free time mafukkas was in a war watching movies about war. :dahell:

Mafukkas would watch this movie over and over. :dahell:

Just coming off a convoy that was attacked and have this shyt playing in the tent.

Love this movie, my only Criticism is that because the opening scene is so phenomenal, the rest of the film struggles to match that level. Small complaint though

the final act on the bridge was incredibly gripping to me...especially since you knew that anyone but Private Ryan could and probably would die...stakes were higher than the intro even

I sort of get it but I also dont

The opening is probably the greatest opening in any movie ever, and I suppose if that’s the baseline then it does drop off some.. but it’s like going from an A+++ to simply an A

There are so many great moments past that opening.

The scenes of the mom getting the drive up and she basically falls down on the porch

When they are in the city trying to navigate through and then a wall falls down and there’s an intense standoff with German soldiers and everyone is shouting in their language to drop their weapons

Vin Diesel scene with the sniper

Medic scene altogether when he talks about his mom and how he greatly regrets pretending to fall asleep when he was a kid and how something so small is eating at him

Rummaging through the dogtags and getting looks from the other soldiers cause they are making a game out of it

The ending with some of the decisions were crazy, Upham being the pinnacle of “what would you do” in a movie it’s still talked about today as much as anything in a movie

And of course the ending conversation “I hope that at least in your eyes, I lived enough life to earn what you all did for me”… that chit hits so deep. One of the goat ending convos

yeah we're not talking about full metal jacket where act 1 just destroys the rest (still an A movie), i mean...this is probably Tom Hank's best performance ever...he was absolutely outstanding in every scene...he really impressed me watching thru different lenses this time.
