I blame the "hustler to buisness man" gimmick for ruining hip hop as an art form.

Yeah
Let's be reality brehs :aicmon:

Most nikkas treat hip hop as a get rich quick scheme so they can retire or branch off into other shyt.

How many artist (mainstream) treat hip hop as an art these days?

There isn't such thing as a real hip hop or fake hip hop it's just commercialized mamaufacterd bullshyt vs true artist.

Artist usually are opinionated rebellious and believe entirely in their freedom to express themselves however they need to.

Think about it.

Artist these days have to watch what they say or who they affiliate with because it might be "bad for business" :what:

Although I dont like chief keef he defiantly embodies a vintage artist who isn't concerned with politics of music his only flaw is that his music is cheeks :skip:

50 cent had that great quality as well unti he became obsessed with the buisness aspect and look what happen to him! :damn:

I felt nas recent album was so good because it was very raw artistically and only showed flaws in the cheap scapegoat songs that labels require rap artist to have like that Swizz beats song :why:

Speaking of that nikka Swizz a great example of what I'm talking about deals with someone like Alicia keys.

Her content when she first came out sounded really authentic, raw, or whatever terminology you want to use compared to her now where it's like some generic pop bullshyt thats terrible.

Aside from pop meaning "pouplar music" the reason why pop was called pop music was because it was associated with being manufactured i.e. your non singing ass folks with marketable looks and gimmicks. While urban music use to be associated with authenticity but now I see what the old hip hop fans complain about when it comes to what's hot these days because everything sounds like pop.

Ends rant. :sadbron:

Yeah
It really does boil down to Pre Jeezy/ Post Jeezy lol.

Remember that Monie Love interview?

"Let's see them first week numbers"

"Do Nas buss his guns?" :heh:

Seriously tho I'm tired of this week numbers talk who gives a fukk man.

I feel like hip hop fans are terrible as well.

We're fickle as shyt and don't show respect to those with actual skill or musical capabilities but were quick to jump on the bandwagon of any nikka that got bytches dancing at the club :what:

nikkas always quick to be like "how is Adele doing these kind of numbers :why: "
That's a stupid ass question when the majority of mainstream artist rehash the same content/topics/material every year.

Don't use art as a way to perpetuate fast money it dilutes the authenticity of other artist along with the genre as a whole.

You have to look at the big picture fam. We're proven all of those white cacs in the rock bands in the 80s right who were saying hip hop is just a fad and won't last that long.

Last be real the quality is defiantly not there like it use to be.
