I'm going to cut to the chase, I blame my people (AA's) for thinking that sh-t was cute Back in 1985, NWA came out and said that they were taking back power of the word. Listen, you can't take power over a word you don't own. Originally, the word was Negus. Also, the word N-gger derived from Niger.
Anyway, I can't get mad at Hispanics like Puerto Ricans (mixed with SSA) or other Hispanics using the word. You disrespected yourself and your ancestors in Rap videos calling yourselves that. I do NOT use that word. Also, on this site I don't use it. It's downright self-hate. You can neg me if you wish, but this is my opinion.
Point is, I don't let Hispanics get away with it NOR do I let AA's get away with it. The Nigerians and African people I met don't use the word. Also, the Black Arabs from Yemen and etc don't use it. AA's have the power in their hands, but we drop the ball every time. I stick with the word "Brotha".
You talk about loving your people and ancestors but disrespect their plight everytime you use that word. There's a poster by the name of @BrokePhiBroke who claims to be for the cause, but loves using that word. No beef against the sis, but she's used that word against me several times AFTER I told her to stop calling me that.
I'll put it this way, I love my Black heritage and will always. Let me ask you this, have you heard a Jewish person, Japanese person, or etc call themselves K-ke or Ch-nk? EXACTLY
P.S. just because you ONE STAR doesn't mean that I don't have a point. It only shows your group think method. I will respect my parents and grandparents fighting for our rights during the Jim Crow and Civil Rights movement.
