North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Yup. Kevin Love signing that four year deal and now bytching is on that same shyt too.

Some teams are content by just signing their star player because they know the fans will show up. Love is basically telling ownership and management that they can't just be content and feel safe. He wants to win and I don't blame him. He's committed to them and now they have to do the same.

Him overvaluing his importance looks worse than him demanding more talent upgrades. He was just stating the obvious there.

Fans didn't start showing up in droves til a certain PG showed up.

So to prove this they go to teams where Billy King is the GM and Donald Sterling, Jim Dolan, and Jim Buss are the owners. They expose GM's that don't know shyt by making execs that don't know shyt look like geniuses.

Honestly basketball is the sport where GM matters the least. Team with the best players win, period. Best players almost never come from obsurity so it's all about getting them in the draft or FA. Certain teams have a distinct advantage when it comes to FA and the only reason those teams don't dominate all the time is the salary cap. Not to say that GMs don't do shyt but fortune (lottery pick in the right spot in the right year, being in an attractive locale) has more to do with winning in the NBA than how adept the GM is.

It's a red herring. It's basically a warning that he plans to bytch in the near future if something isn't done.

Im all for it since it adds excitement..rarely do trades or signings shift the power of balance and now u could have that in two straight years..

Nba is usually predictable as it is because its only really about your best player or two..it was never about parity anyway so why not have it like this then the same teams winning every year anyway without chance of another team shifting power from them through trades or free agency..

As someone said though if players want to dictate where they go and make the most money then dont bytch if youre still not winning..

Melo wanted to make as much money as possible instead of waiting it out in Denver the last month of the season and going to the Knicks in the summer which is fine, but it made them trade all their assets and hes now stuck on a team thats gonna be a lower to middle tier playoff team the rest of his prime more then likely with no room or flexiblity to make signings or trades for the team to get to the next level..

exactly its about getting the best player in the league which usually means ending up getitng lucky in the lotto..

Just like the shytty gm's who happen to be in desirable cities players wanted to go fell into their lap the same happened in places like Cleveland where they won the lotto and got lucky with a once in a generation talent like Lebron it was no skill getting him..nba is mostly about luck in getting that generational player..

Nobody forced them to make shytty moves of getting pieces around him for 7 years and signing guys like Larry Hughes to big contracts..

These dudes ain't running shyt. LOL@building a winner. LeBron James & Dwyane Wade are 2 top 5 players in the entire league. No other team has that and no other team will have. OKC might and they did it through the draft, not politics.

What's gonna hapen wen all these "super teams" still remain just "playoff teams"? Then what?

Teams now have short windows to build a winner. It's good to see players exposing GM's that don't know shyt about basketball and putting a squad together. I hate the heat, but only because I never liked Lebron or Wade.

The best players are forced to go to shytty franchises when they come in and if that team fail to build around them, they deserve to start over. The owners have no player loyalty and only care about revenue generated by their star players. Lin is a prime example.

who in that in ya avi it looks like some backroom piff

I remember when they really wanted to add Ray Allen and Michael Redd but neither of em wanted to go.

Right. I agree. Melo forcing that deal had nothing to do with wanting to "get at Lebron" Ditto Amare.

so because it's not 100% across the board with some athletes, the point that others seeing Bron and them moving up doesn't motivate them, or is Melo the end all of how most of them feel?
