:jbhmm: Do Nigerian brehs on here agree with this? Or African brehs from other countries? You all were Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa etc long before Nigerian correct?

If a beautiful Yoruba woman came up to you and showed some romantic interest will you say sorry but I'm Igbo?

No, but if that Yoruba woman says I have to extinguish my ethnic identity to be with her, I'll tell her to go hang.

Your question is strange and has little to do with the posting. The person who made that video wants Nigerians to rid themselves of their ethnic identities, ostensibly, through romance. When has romance ever cured inter-ethnic or inter-racial ills? You Americans should know of all people.

What do you guys think about being black before being Yoruba, Igbo, Nigerian, Kenyan, South African etc?:jbhmm:

Which is not to say give up your culture or anything, but recognise that ultimately we are different branches of the same tree so to speak.

Lord knows we need to come together. Everybody else gangs up on us all the time but we're too busy fighting amongst ourselves. :martin::snoop:

I think it should be more like, I'm a Nigerian-Yoruba or Nigerian-Igbo etc.

Acknowledge the nation but embrace the ethnicity.
Exactly this. I get the overall message behind the video, and I totally agree that tribalism sucks, but getting rid of one's ethnic identity is not the way to go about combating tribalism.
