I want to sit through it. I could have watched The Godfather without those flashbacks. Its better to see the life then see some pathetic rise and fall story.

Most people disagree, which is why dramatic conflict (internal/relational/external) has been a staple of fiction for thousands of years.

Of course Sosa was the smarter gangster, but more people will connect with someone like Scarface. Sosa was so smart with his shyt, wouldn't be enough interesting drama happening. A Sosa movie would be comparable to something like the Godfather. You know how many times nikkas told me that Scarface was better than the Godfather :snoop:

Accept the Godfather probably came from some sort of struggle... Probably came from immigrant parents, etc...

Sosa's character is based off a druglord that was rich his entire life.. No struggle whatsoever....

This is why a Sosa film would have been so much better. We need reality in our films. There are still struggles and perils for a man of his stature that you can write. It doesnt necessarily have to be gunfights but him outwitting people in his camp who want to take his crown, outwitting law enforcement at high levels. Outwitting idiots like Tony Montana during a break at a business conference. So many ways you can break down the game with a character like Sosa. Unfortunately we're only left with a predictable story like Phony Montana, the most disloyal loser in the history of film. He was disloyal to every single person who gave him work.

Well the guy who "Sosa" is based off of...

Roberto Suarez Gomez aka the "King of Cocaine" was born rich as fukk :manny:

Roberto Suarez Gomez is from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, born into a vastly wealthy family heavily involved in the South American rubber trade. His granduncle was Nicolas Suarez, a famous rubber baron that was recognized as the "Rockefeller of the rubber trade." His family reportedly owned 16 million acres of tropical rain forest bordering Beni, Bolivia at one point. Combined, their land holdings were the size of Ireland. Roberto himself was also a cattle rancher, taking advantage of his family's land holdings to increase profits in the beef trade.

I agree. I love more subtle gangster movies that portray more then violence and drugs and shyt. But I was speaking from a business standpoint. But we need movies like Scarface too. Art imitates life, and please believe it's some wreckless gangsta nikkas out here wiling just like him, and they end up like him too :pachaha:

Godfather II actually explicitly details just how broke Vito Corleone was when he came to America
