camby falls into the dalembert category: had his chance to come here, fill a position of need and win championships, but chose money.

plus if we had signed him last year we wouldn't have signed birdman.

he can retire ringless for all i care.

Marc Stein: Hearing strongly that Miami still needs to be in same zip code w/Spurs & Cavs in Greg Oden's free-agent thinking. Heat right there, I'm told Twitter @ESPNSteinLine

I'll believe it when I see it. He can't expect big or guaranteed money coming off multiple knee injuries.

Birdman watch

The Heat have opened negotiations with free-agent center Chris Andersen, who Monday became free to negotiate with the team of his choice.

The Heat are limited to contract offers to Andersen starting either at the $3.2 million taxpayer mid-level exception or a 20-percent raise over last year's salary, which would start a new contract at $1.7 million next season.

The player nicknamed "Birdman" remained in South Florida following the Heat's Game 7 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, attending promotional appearances and working out at AmericanAirlines Arena.

The Heat's only other unsigned free agent is veteran power forward Juwan Howard.

if this nikka don't get burn this season im slappin sppo's kufi off

Word. Spo & co. really need to manage the Big 3's minutes better this season (other than maybe Bron's), and develop some of this young talent. I'd like to see Norris Cole get some more run this year. And hopefully Ennis makes the team because he looks like he could be a potential steal of the draft :whew:

I hope so. Dude's build kind of reminds me of Eddie Jones.
