The smoke is clearing. Some saw through it in real time.

Me.

I said this back in 2008, 2009, 2010 on SOHH. I used to get negged something serious.

His music is juvenile. In those years Wayne was the same age Hov was when he did Reasonable Doubt, Vol 1, Vol 2.

Older than Pac & Biggie were for their entire career. Nobody wants to hear that stuff in their 30s/40s outside of nostalgia.

nikkas used to come for my head when I told them T.I. would be remembered as the better rapper when it was all said and done. Now it's 2024 and it's pretty much universally agreed upon that T.I. was the better rapper. Rap would of been in a much different position if T.I. didn't go to prison and he got to birth the next generation and not Wayne.

TI was my favorite rapper from 2004 to 2006 :wow:

Put down the gun, let him live shawty :wow:

He has zero classic albums. Go listen to his Carter shyt. All of it sounds outdated as fukk on the production and Wayne has never said anything on the mic worth a damn.

I disagree. I think Carter 1 is his best most cohesive project. Manny fresh was at the top of his game and Wayne met him there. A fantastic listen from beginning to end.

The rest of his albums are definitely poor in quality

More mid than Excellence.

But those peaks are some of the highest peaks Hip hop has ever seen. if not the absolute peaks of the genre.

There's a reason why most of the most successful rappers of the past decade are all offspring of his style.

They've changed it in the worse way :francis:

The quality of rapping was there ,it's the overall body of work, concepts, subjects and quantity where it gets wobbly for me. He didn't seem to evolve with his original fanbase but remained stagnant imo.His "children" did.
