Yo, I can't even front.....

I've seen both Widows and The Kitchen so far this year, and they both sucked. So I wasn't too primed to see this shyt and went into it with extremely low expectations....

....but I was legit SHOCKED at how entertaining this was. First of all....how the HELL does J-Lo look THAT damn good and she's in her 50s? Like, she is FIRE in this shyt both in her acting and in how she looks. Her intro dance scene was . So yeah, all the stuff you've heard about her performance, it's true. She KILLED this shyt and looked damn good doin it.

Basically they humanize strippers in this. It's more telling their story than empowering them. I like the way they told the story, too....good screenwriting.

Didnt need to see Lizzo....Keke Palmer was good....Cardi B was , but she was just being her normal loud ass self. If she wants to get into acting, she's gonna hafta learn how to stretch herself and stop being a damn foul-mouth.

Again....pleasantly shocked at how decent this was....it had its flaws, but overall I would actually recommend it.

Only problem in the movie was white girl that looked too much like Brittney Murphy (RIP) I was drunk as hell (Dussé in my girl purse they don’t check bags) at a movie theatre called the Alamo that had a themed menu and I couldn’t resist drinking a booty shake milkshake and eating fried okra

Also for being a big ass fat woman that Lizzie woman is deceptively smooth no stretch marks

JLO lawdamercy I would shoot up her club even today like someone trying to kill


Important question how was JLO basically broke at the end and the Asian girl rich ?

Movie was great with keeping certain things from certain years music was done right and fashion for the most part (that Velour track suit JLO had LAWDAMERCY)

I missed Cardi thought she would be in more

It's critically acclaimed, it's making money and it's aimed towards a relatively younger movie-going audience. Add that the Academy loves rewarding actresses for longevity, and there is actually a fairly big chance J-Lo will get a nomination.

I've seen Keke Palmer in several films, several TV shows, and other vignettes...

I dont know why she keeps being hired. Maybe its the promise of being a great child-to-adult actor.

She's not terrible in this, but she's just not a good actor.

I think this movie ended up being better than people thought it would be but since everything is either "classic" or "trash" now, the hype has gone through the roof.

Thought it was good not great. Agreed with Martin from Double Toasted when he said the movie used a Goodfellas framework but the story wasn’t really epic enough to warrant it.

It did a good job though of balancing the line of making you understand their motives but also making it known that what they were doing was fukked up

J Lo was good but I thought Constance Wu had the best performance in the movie
