Lopez gives her most electrifying screen performance since "Out of Sight," slipping the movie into her nonexistent pocket from the moment she strides out onto a neon-lighted stage in a rhinestone bodysuit.
It's also funny, empowering, sexy, emotional, and a bit scary, with most of those superlatives coming care of a full-force performance from Jennifer Lopez genuinely deserving of awards consideration.
Move over "Wolf of Wall Street," these girls can be just as bad as the guys, and infinitely more charming, in this film with a knock-out performance by Jennifer Lopez.
With an all-star cast led by a fierce Jennifer Lopez, Hustlers is a glossy crowdpleaser that shatters the male gaze.
Aided by Jennifer Lopez' career-best performance as a duplicitous diva, its celebration of female force and friendship is likely to draw and delight fans - particularly if they've first fortified themselves with a few frozen margaritas.
Lopez performance is said to be the highlight of a meandering movie, I doubt I will see.
I do somewhat question the intent of making so many young women idolize strippers and "hustlers", though doubtless entire genres are decictaed to the glamorization of male drug dealers/gangsters/criminals.
This one just seems especially grating to me, given the involvement of such mega brands as Lopez, Cardi B, Lizzo.
Saw the movie last night and JLO gave her best performance that I’ve seen from her in a while.
Constance Wu did a good job as well.
The movie as a whole was quite entertaining and kept me intrigued from beginning to end.
G-Eazy of all people and with the small role he got, he got some potential for the big screeen
Cardi pretty much played herself, however i find it funny that Nicki sub dissed her for being a stripper on “LLC” last year and now she is starring in a critically acclaimed movie that is getting Oscar buzz about strippers
