Not sure . Weathe stations assume no liability for gettin stuff wrong . Getting unforeseen big storms wrong might hurt cred but the newsstations can't get in any civil , legal trouble .There'd be zero news channels if that were the case . Any CAT3 storm or greater that is projected to make landfall is gonna get hyped ridiculously in the states whether it's predicted to pan out or not. Been that way for a looooooong time .
