this fear mongering is making me paranoid:merchant:

I think it goes both ways, people don't wanna get told "leave or you'll probably die" but at the same time, the state doesn't want a mass casualty event on their hands, that's why they want people to leave. I remember when Ivan came through as a Cat and I was like a 150 miles from the coast and it completely tore up my city.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
You need to chill with all the nonchalant shyt before karma hits your ass

:what:

I been down here my whole life, breh. I know when to be worried. This dry ass storm ain't it. If you're on beachfront property or something I'd be a little worried about the possible storm surge

This goddamn traffic is making me wish Id just let fate take its course in the hurricane :francis:
:mjlol:

That sucks. You couldn't leave early?

I strongly doubt that.

What are insurance companies, FPL, and the state government doing differently in SFL than the rest of the state in terms of Hurricane prep? We all have to abide by the same codes and regulations that the other counties have to. If that Hurricane had hit SFL directly we would be screwed. Its only been 10 years since our last test which we failed miserably (Wilma) and knowing how sllllooooow government work is, I doubt that much has changed during that time span. We were very lucky to be hit with just the outerbands of this storm which meteorologists have been projecting all along.

Homeowners' Insurance companies..county building regulations...if it's the same across the state there won't be any crazy damage.

Since Wilma FPL has put in alot of work. There are gonna be outages but hopefully it'll be easier to put back on since they pretty much replaced all the old wooden poles with concrete ones in SFL.

Like I keep saying, if the rest of the state is as prepared as SFL this storm won't even be in the news tomorrow
