It's weakening a bit now due to some shear in the air which is bad news.

Let me explain why.

A weaker storm allows the ridge in the Atlantic to strengthen an steer the storm more westerly to the US. If the storm was stronger right now it would be more likely to scoot off shore but the probability of that happening is decreasing right now.

It will regain strength into a Major down the road.
