Can't nothing be worse than Isabel :francis:

Can it? :sadcam:

If I’m in Virginia, I’m extremely worried about flooding.

What’s going to happen is that the steering currents will weaken as Flo moves in and that will cause her to sit over the same area and cause flooding rains.

This thing intensified quick. With three more days, does it look like it'll remain stable? I doubt it can rapidly intensify like that again but who knows how conditions will look today and tomorrow.

NHC expects it to get up to 150 mph either later today or tomorrow.

Flo hasn’t even hit the warmest water yet and there is not really much shear to hinder development, there will be things within the storm to slow the intensification down such as an eyewall replacement cycle but other than that, she’s about to become a monster.

I live in Goldsboro. :mjcry:

I’m escaping to Fayetteville and staying with my momma.

Matthew damn near clapped half the city and this one worse.

A lot of shyt I never realised when Katrina hit:
1. Neither the Feds not the States have a solid plan for a hurricane hitting landfall.
2. The people who deal w/ the fall-out the most are the poorest ones, those who don't have outside family they can stay with, and those with disabilities.
3. For some odd reason, even though hurricanes have been an annual thing since cacs made it to the US, they still act like its a surprise.

Hope everyone is safe and weathers through this just fine.

Well I just read the reason it flooded in my area during Matthew was because the Lumber River was already at flood stage and the banks couldn't handle the 18 inches of water that came.
So hopefully we will be good on that end since the bank is low.
