The WBB GOAT will try to get the Wolverines to their first Elite 8 appearance in program history.

6:30 PM on ESPN2

He shot 38% from 3 last season (35% the year prior). His road splits are kind of trash (28% from 3), but depending on his defense he's just was they need at the 2/3.

Sometimes good experience and a different perspective can help, is my hope, and maybe he may get better

Can someone explain to me how the hell Brandon Johns fell off the face of the earth for an ENTIRE season? Even watching him against Villanova, he just lost all confidence. I don't know if it was personal issues with him but damn what a disappointing season. He will be a grad senior next year, I hope Jawan doesn't offer him a scholarship.

I know so many michigan fans myself included were down on Houstan this year, he came in with so much hype but he's a true freshman. With Johns as senior, dude barely contributed at all.

Still very disappointed we lost that last game, very winnable. Sweet 16 birth helped Jawan's legacy but I hope he can build a better roster now that the last of Coach B guys are officially gone. Who will be his guy next year to step up.

It's hard to be disappointed with the women, this is the highest point in program history. Michigan WBB basically begins with KBA 10 years ago, before that the biggest highlight was Borseth's post-game rant. You can clearly tell there are still two levels between this team and the upper echelon. Laila Phelia was really the only guard/wing who wasn't over matched athletically. That's not surprising given where they started as a program and how women's basketball recruiting has traditionally worked.

Still, the talent is there to rebuild next year. I don't think they'll be in position to make another deep run or compete for a B1G regular season title (losing too many rotational players), but I expect them to be a respectable tournament team.

Going from Katelynn Flaherty to Naz Hillmon to what looks to be Laila Phelia is how you build a program.

I wasn't knocking his shooting, away percentages notwithstanding (there's a lot that goes into those), he's a good shooter at a strong program. I'm just curious about his defense because he's not a playmaker (something Michigan needs from a 2 or 3). With his shooting he's a take, although it looks like there's competition from Kentucky.

Women should dominate recruiting a good school good education, i feel like in wbb they don’t worry about will i get drafted here vs there
Right now Michigan needs to work on becoming a perennial conference and tournament power like Maryland before they can graduate to a Stanford or Notre Dame (under McGraw) level program. KBA is in the process of doing that.

Next year's team will be more athletic, longer, and projects to be better shooters than this year's team. That doesn't mean they'll be a better team, chemistry and veteran leadership cannot be discounted in collegiate athletics, but it's the next step in program building (improving the talent overall level).

Two of Maryland WBB's best players -- Angel Reese, a sophomore forward, and Ashley Owusu, a grad transfer PG -- entered the transfer portal. Both are all conference caliber players, Reese would be the best possible replacement for Naz.

Michigan WBB now has 2 scholarships available with Taylor Gibson entering the transfer portal (respectfully, not much of a loss).

@DropTopDoc This could be the dominate recruiting you were talking about. Hopefully they land at least one.

If it's Reese, maybe she can convince her brother, Julian, to come with if Hunter and/or Moussa leave?

OT but very cool.

I'd prefer Terrance Shannon (first guy you posted), but I'm biased against undersized 2-guards though.

Anyway, I know Juwan was high on him as a recruit and there was some last year before LSU bought his services. I'm hoping Bufkin makes a LaVert-like leap because Miller as a bench gunner is more appealing than him starting. They need guard depth regardless.

3 schools in 3 years is also a red flag to me.
