To me the whole book of Mockingjay was really bad. It ruined Katniss as a character, ruined Gale too.

I couldn't even finish Mockingjay. I was like wtf is this shyt? :camby: Them making two movies out of it is disgustya.

me and my homie discussed this in the car. Joanna is a freak that you'd fukk and do some freaky shyt with, but Katniss is wifey I'ma make love to you status :inlove:

Katniss aint got no personality tho. Give me Joanna all day.

The sheer ridiculousness of everything about "The Capitol" pulls me out of the movie every damn time.

Exactly. I had this argument during the first movie. The whole premise of that society is ridiculous. You could never take modern day Americans and put them on board for that type of fukkery.

I saw it today finally. It was above average, I was entertained but I read the book so I knew this would be hard to translate to film. They did a good job with what they had. I will admit that the ending had me wanting more tho.

My main beef with the series is how unrealistic shyt is. Yeah yeah I know, its not real, but even in that fictional world there are a lot of :rudy: moments. Like you mean to tell me these nikkas had this elaborate plan and didn't tell Katniss? She could've died at any second. My nikka Plutark damn near killed all of them with that poisonous gas. Katniss almost killed Finnick twice. If that was their plan it was the most non-failsafe plan I've ever seen. And the timing on that lightning strike + bow and arrow combo was :rudy: as well.

They didn't tell her because Katniss would've screwed things up charging ahead without thinking. She does that alot. Having the different tributes watching out for her in the arena was a good fail-safe. Eight people making sure you don't die, that's pretty good odds. It obviously served as a plot device, adding suspense to the book/movie since she doesn't know who to trust and thinks they're still out to kill her.

Plutarch had to keep the games going as planned, even the poisonous gas. Remember, President Snow wants Katniss dead. And he implied Plutarch would be in the bushes if she wasn't put down. President Snow was there watching the entire games in the same room with dude. Plutarch had to make things look convincing or he'd be :dead: like the other nikka.

And as far as it being unrealistic...for one, its a book. You have to suspend your realism to enjoy it. For two, the books are set in an undisclosed time period in the future. For all you know it could be 700 years from now. Alot of sh*t could change in a couple hundred years. 200 years ago people thought it was okay to have black people in chains. She doesn't explicitly say it but, Panem is the ruins of America after World War 3. If modern society as we knew it crumbled, it would get pretty savage out here. Look at Book of Eli or The Walking Dead. Whose to say a dictatorship couldn't come into power?
