I always hated the fukkery when it came to his matches in WCW. As well remembered as that time was, most of the main event matches sucked. Sting, Warrior, Piper, Bret etc. they always screwed up the easiest decisions even at their peak.

I wish Jake the Snake had a title run, not giving someone a push because they’re more over than your champion? :comeon: or they gave Andre the belt during his streak. It would’ve made beating him an even more insane feat for whoever got the push. I get Andre didn’t need it, but it would put his dominance over the top, plus Heenan talking shyt with the belt on him would’ve been great.

Incredibly outdated wrestler, whose matches were stuck in the 80s mindset. Him and guys like Ric Flair, their wrestling matches were all the same:

he flips over the top, he runs down, he climbs up, they slam him off :mjlol:

People in the 80s were easy to entertain, you could find tapes of that racist from jersey andrew dice clay who sold out MSG by just doing lame nursery rhymes.

That's not true. Flair had a lot of the same spots but the layout of his matches varied quite a bit.

While Roman is having a great run, I feel like it can't compare. Just based on how different the industry is. Even without the issues with Hogan, since then the WWE has dealt with the steroid scandal plus these recent allegations against Vince and who knows what else. Sure there have been wrestlers that have acted like The Rock, but I don't think he had a big dominant run as champ like Hogan or Reigns. The attitude era I think cancelled out any mainstream appeal with the mature ratings tho most of us were kids when it was happening anyways. John Cena might've had that opportunity but I think wrestling was on the decline when he started his run and I can't think of anyone else who might've had the opportunity. Another thing is just how much wrestling has grown. Wrestlemania 1 was in 85 and I think Raw started in 93. They had maybe a few PPVs in the late 80s. I think summerslam started in 89 and the rumble around that time as well. Plus there was no In Your House or eventually other PPVs every month and no Raw or Smackdown every week. So it was easier to crossover and do movies as well. Now they gotta deal with weekly shows and monthly PLE's tho that doesn't mean Roman or any potential big star has to be there every event, it's just more responsibilities. Compared to Hogan who might've had a ppv every few months. Fans also love heels more, which Roman is, so those don't have much mainstream appeal. Big difference between the average consumer and these crazy wrestling fans, us not included. but y'all know the ones out there. I just don't see something like that happening unless the wrestling industry changes.
