Yea

It wasnt bad, but, it was forgettable

That dodgeball ep was useless, IMO

I do understand ppls concerns, but, lets watch a couple eps, before we judge it

thats what i mean when I say weak.

to be clear, there were 3-4 BAD eps, imo. but the main issue... it was all just meh. until "the fundraiser" i dont kno anyone that thought season 3 was on point. the real-world parallels were too heavy-handed, the underlying messages (which they used to use the real world parallels to introduce) were dumbed down. or removed altogether.

and yeah... even with the samurai champloo refs, the dodgeball ep sucked.

i'm cautiously optimistic that cartoon network understands what they have. and treat the show with the respect it deserves. but if they dont... lets not act like boondocks wasnt starting to slip WITH mcgruder at the wheel.

Oh god I think we're watching a classic show jump the shark.

That being said McGruder was running out of ideas in season 3. He should have pulled a Chapelle and let this show be 2 seasons.

So, we're gonna complain about everything this season

I don't see the problem with the trailer, outside of the info that Aaron is gone

It's obviously the premeire is commentary on the housing crash

I see the pop culture references

I don't like Thugificents hair being back and Stinkmeiner being alive

but, it's lookin' like yall gearing up to complain about everything :smh:

Excatly, some of these brehs are the same ones who were in season 3 thread going crazy. If they didnt know Aaron was gone they would be :krs: in every boondocks thread:dry:. At least give the season a couple episodes before you shyt on it. Hell, i didnt really like the last season but im gonna give this one a chance. The trailer wasnt even bad, they had some funny moments. Plus, anytime you got Huey fighting people im down.

Oh yea..,so we gonna act like their weren't moments in the past seasons where some of the characters were c00ning

I think if you watched Samurai Champloo you would probably enjoy that episode more.

that made it worse, imo. there was no need for it. and they did nothing to make it their own except have wunsler acting a damn fool.

I'll reserve judgment until we're a couple episodes in...after all, it's not like McGruder was the only black writer or something.

But I was a bit disappointed with Seasons 2 & 3 and it looks like more of the same. My main issues...

-Not enough focus on Huey
-Too much Riley (every episode seems to be "find a stereotype for Riley to try to be")
-WAY too much Uncle Ruckus (we get it, he's black and hates black people, it was mildly funny at first but I don't know why they have to run that joke into the ground)
-Refusal to use Caesar
-Not enough focus on other interesting side characters from the comics (Tom, his wife, Cindy, Huey's teacher, etc.)
-Not enough political commentary...the entire show is just a critique of black culture. That's fine and all but I miss the comic, which had a lot more varied subject matter and would sometimes touch on politics and other topics. Seems like most episodes are just "find something about black people to criticize". I get the point, but I just feel like it gets redundant after a while.

Basically, my issue is that the show turned into "The wacky adventures of Riley & Granddad" and made Huey a side character who doesn't do much outside of play the straight man. The trailer looks like they'll continue that trend.

I still find Season 1 to be the best.

Boondocks as a whole has been hit or miss but Black Jesus could be something.

Is Black Dynamite returning? Show was slept on.
