My thing is would people even know the difference? This is the same show that satirized slavery, had MLK calling people nikkas and a black minister attempting to beat the black outta people

If these episodes came out without Mcgruder at the helm people would be crying c00nery, look at what these cacs did etc but since he did it it was all good. Really my worry would be that they won't push things far enough and play it too safe, the series has a reputation for being fearless in the face of controversy like that MLK episode that had every black pseudo militant tv talking head calling for its cancellation...it's easy to imagine they won't push the envelope without someone like Mcgruder to fight for it

Its like a white guy telling black jokes, You dont do it

What has never been lost on me is the enormous responsibility that came with The Boondocks – particularly the television show and it’s relatively young audience. It was important to offend, but equally important to offend for the right reasons. For three seasons I personally navigated this show through the minefields of controversy. It was not perfect. And it definitely was not quick. But it was always done with a keen sense of duty, history, culture, and love. Anything less would have been simply unacceptable. - Aaron mcgruder
