Gamepass cost money. So do they pay themselves when a 1st party game has “high engagement”? How does that translate to more money being made outside an actual purchase, if current game pass subscribers are the ones logging in hours?
Halo still a top ten gamepass game for like 3 years now. Meaning people have been paying~ $15 a month for the last 3 years to access that game. The money adds up quick. And that’s not even talking about spending money on DLC.
Y’all pretend gamepass itself is free, it’s not. They also have metrics showing when people are engaged with one game they tend to spend more money on the ecosystem in general. Why do you think sony is concentrating on engagement over “sales”??
