My fix would be to limit the terms of congressmen and cabinet members.

The founders never wanted politicians to make a career out of it. They wanted political office to be a public duty that everyone takes part in. You do your time in congress and go back to your life.

That was DRASTICALLY lower the wasted time (don't have to worry about campaigning), corruption (why screw yourself when your not a politician forever), gridlock (people want to get things done, they only have 1-2 terms to do it), and the overall mistrust of the government (over time).

The only real solution for this country is to jump ship. The amount of energy and effort it would take to overhaul everything n this country would bankrupt everyone involved and most likely before america collapses anyway

they've made it clear that the average american is not welcome as anything other than expendable cattle. let them destroy themselves on their selves by their selves, and spare ourselves the trouble.

We should get a breh "Noahs Ark" movement and find some land overseas and pitch in to get us started outside of this sinking ship. The time is might, friends :to:

I think a couple of us here, at least IIRC from the old site, are planning to head to Scandanavia. I sure am. I'm applying for asylum after I graduate and save enough money to do it. Not kidding either.

a lot of these suggestions are just checks and balances on the human element

i.e with term limits, we wouldn't have to put a term limit to restrict folks from being career politicians, if the voting majority realized that being a career politician was a bad thing

in other words, you can put all the checks and balances in place that you want, but if the ppl are stupid won't shyt change

just graduated, saving money now. i applied for dual citizenship with the eu, its gonna take a long time though.

in any event, im not sure if this has been posted yet, but the first thing i would do is to amend and cap pension programs. there is so much money being paid out to former state and fed employees, its disgusting. you got former city commissioners and token ex-cops making easy 6 figures sitting at home doing nothing.

There should be more consumption taxes? So those who consume more should pay a higher percentage in taxes? What is the implication here?

yes thats the concept. so you take 100% of ur money home on ur check minus whatever u pay for ur insurance obviously. but say they tax all goods and services at say a flat 20% and the gov't gets a flat rate.

this would accomplish a number of things:

1. rich a$$holes could no longer use legal loopholes in order to not pay income tax, as everyone would pay the same rate based on the goods and services they consume. so rich people would obviously pay more since they spend more. and the poor would pay less since they spend less.

2. it would eliminate the IRS and the need to collect taxes from every individual. I know that would cost jobs, but gov't is waaaayyyyyy too big. and the dumb US gov't is, they would rather spend 10K to chase and audit someone to collect the 5k that they owe which is hustling backwards. shyt is retarded all the way around. and the savings alone form eliminating the IRS and the need to have to collect taxes would save billions. cuz stores would be forced to send the taxes in to the gov't the same way they do with sales taxes currently.

In my opinion it makes perfect sense, but just like most things that make sense, the gov't ain't gonna try and do it.

Bad move IMO. The problem with that idea is that it's a regressive tax and would actually penalize poor people more.

The reason of course is that poor people spend a much higher percentage of their income on goods and services than the rich, thus they'll pay a higher percentage of their income as taxes. So unless you did something like exempt the first $X of income of each person's consumption from taxes (no idea how you could manage that), a consumption tax would just shift more of the burden on the poor.

maybe if we had a more better education system this wouldn't be such a problem :mjpls:

Definitely end the two party system. Get rid of all corp lobbyists. Harsher punishments for dirty politicians. Just bring back what the government was created in the first place. To work for the better of the people and not just tell us what we want to hear.

One more thing, definitively separate church and state. I don't want the president to have to say god bless america after every speech much less make decisions based on what "god" told him ala Dubya. That shyt blows my mind still.

Man ya'll are bringing tears to my eyes :wow:
Dope-ass thread right here.....
If I really wrote what I felt, I'd end up on some CIA watch list. But I'll say this:

-The president gets one 6-year term.
-Members of Congress get one 6-year term. It's staggered so that a new batch comes in every 2 years. And the ONLY way they can run for re-election is if they have something like a 95% approval rating (which we know ain't happening)
-After their service is up, former Congress members are banned for 15 years from accepting any job with Big Pharma, Big Oil, Banking industries etc.
-Complete tranparency in the doings of government. All that under-the-table shyt is destorying us.
-Harsher penalties for any government worker that gets caught doing dirt. Government service needs to be an honorable profession, not something people do to flex their power.
-10% flat income tax, which can be written off if you donate to pre-approved institutions that improve the lives of the citizens (like education)
-Stop policing the world. The excessive money we spend on the military-industrial-complex, we could spend to enrich the lives of our own citizens.
-Declassify all past governement cover-ups (UFOs, JFK's assassination, MLK's assassination, the Philadelphia Experiment etc.).
-Be selective about immigration and enforce it.
-Rehaul the Fed and all banking policies. They purpsely try to create money out of thin air to put in their pockets, while simultaneously trying to keep all citizens in debt.

I actually think an entire new system needs to be put in place, but this is what I could think of within the confines of the current system.
There's more, and I know my shyt is a litte out there and needs to be smoothed out; but things need to change. Let me know when ya'll are ready to take to the streets:bustback:
