He's the best player in the sport at his position he can do whatever he wants. LT was blowing lines and New York loved him because he backed it up on the field.

This thread is all over the place.

Ray Lewis MURDERED two nikkaz after the super bowl, ratted out on his associates and got away with a slap on the wrist, he got back in the league and the Media doesnt give a fukk about it, they see him as one the best LBs in the history of the game, very seldom you see a media member crucify him for what happened that day after the super bowl.

Just thinking a bit...a good guy to compare Gronk to is Gastineau from a personality standpoint. Dumb jock, frat boy...smashes beer cans off of his forehead

Difference is teammates hated Gastineau for being a selfish jackass....Ive never heard anyone say a bad thing about Gronk. And the media did give him a hard time about the dancing after the SB.

Dante Stallworth drove drunk and Killed an harworking construction crane operator who was trying to catch a bus home after finishing his shift around 7:15 a.m. and got only got 30 days in jail and is back in the league, media doesnt really care about that, Leonard Little drunk driving killed a woman and got away with probation and was right back on the league, got caught AGAIN drunk driving and got two more years of PROBATION. GTFOH with that white black bullshyt bullshyt.

That's the whole purpose of this thread genius. Comparing a white athlete's behavior to a Black athlete's behavior. If a Black athlete was sending dyck pics instead of :smugfavre: it would've been more serious, but they gave a pass to Favre.

And Dante Stallworth didn't kill anyone on purpose. But Mark Chmura raping a 17 year old and getting away with is okay huh?

Really? They were doing articles on him doing coke, being a lowlife and celebrating it? I'm not that old, please inform me. @NYC Rebel can you confirm this?

Allegedly.

I would've never known Gronkowski as a "cocky, outlandish, egocentric" person until watching this video. There's a difference between what he's doing and what T.O. did... and T.O might be my favorite football player ever.

Chad and T.O. went out their way to tell you how great they were, be flamboyant and outrageous. The only flamboyant thing Gronkowski does on the field is spike the ball after TD's. At tjhe same time I feel Chad, T.O. and other players like that got overly scrutinized by white media unfairly, but I don't think you can really compare them to Gronkowski.

How is that breaking any laws? is he not allowed to fukk? why should the media get invoilved in this and who are we or the media to crucify this man for dating a porn star? how many athletes you think are dating strippers or gotten a not so nice girl pregnant and video hoes and the media doesnt give a flying fukk unless the chick goes and spills the beans on them and acts ratchet.. The SB After party was planned by the team before the game and continued as planned, in spite of the loss, even the Pats OWNER was in that party along with other patriots players, he was devastated but life goes on, what did u want him to do commit suicide?

I dont know what else was said in this post b/c I stopped after the first sentence.

When has it EVER mattered if a black player breaks the law?

It's real easy dude:

white guy - he's just having fun out there, he loves the game, great leader

black guy - he's not focused, showboating, poor sportsmanship, bad teammate in the locker room

Sound familar?

True that, and to people that always bytching about the media crucifying white athletes is a BS point, they crucify anyone who put themselves out there in an Selfish/arrogant/disrespectful/violent or portray anything thats NOT right with our society. Unfortunately some black athletes seem to put themselves in situations that need to be talked about, Wasnt Tiger woods like the GOD of all athletes, couldnt do anything wrong until he put himself in a posistion that the media had to report and talk about it, same with Kobe Bryant before the rape case, Floyd Mayweather before his (Money May and run in with the law), Mike Tyson was the shyt before he started acting crazy not training for fights and putting himself out there for the gold diggers, you name it, Most athletes the media crucifies put themselves in that position...

Dude he cut a plea deal with the prosecutors to lessen his charges and testified againts his two friends to save his ass, you know he wasnt a innocent bystander in all this. He also gave an unreported ammount of money to the victims families, not the act of an innocent man if u ask me.

Cats like you are why people still think Boston and New England are racist. It's why fellow New Englanders like me are always on the defense here and in real life when talking to other black people about the area. Your complete ignorance to established media bias is remarkable. I love Gronk, but the general premise of the thread is correct. Your entire post is stupid because of the fact that you're using examples of athletes acting squeaky clean and then being crucified when they no longer act that way.

That's not the point of the thread. It's about comparable behavior and how it is perceived and how things are depicted in the media. Gronk does get a pass, but at to his defense--he also plays for the Pats and doesn't get the chance to say something to the media the way TO and Chad did. It's a tighter ship. I mean, there are literal studies on media bias dating back to the 50s and 60s when black people first became the face of poverty even though they weren't the majority of those impoverished and how that effected the public's perception of the Great Society. It's shown, make the black guy the face of something, you almost always get a more negative reaction.

No one ever said, that athletes aren't put on a pedestal, the point is that it's much easier for a black guy to fall off of it.

Then you rely on speculative bullshyt to make your argument.

Give me an example on this? what Players? dont say TO and OCHO cuz the media only started getting on them about their antics on the field when the league started cutting on celebrations and then when they started not being productive and blaming other people like QBs and stuff. If theyre not on the league blame nobody but themselves, chances they had PLENTY.

TO Shoot his was out of SF, Dallas, Philly while being productive, tried commiting suicide twice and his post TD disrespectfull celebrations put him in the news, all that caught up to him..

Ocho was just like TO he was let go in NE not for his antics but for his salary and not being productive anymore, he got another Chance in MIAMI and we know hwy he is not in the league, it has NOTHING to do with the media...

Just curious what about Gronks personality would be perceived differently if he were black?

This thread is totally all over the place but you still havent pointed out where Gronk gets a "pass"

Pass probably being the most overused word on here.

Where is he getting a pass? what should the media say about how gronk lives his life? is he being an arrogant rich white boy? is he beeing an a$$hole to other people? is he acting like a thug? is he calling out his team mates? Making Excuses why he under performed in the SB? get your smart ass coments and stats outta here, you tell me whats wrong with that video that other black athlete would be crucified for... The Media got on him BIG time for partying after the SB and the team got on him this sumer for all the stuff he was doing....
