How Will the Series S Affect Next Gen Multi's and the Series X?

You know 3-4 years from now ..there will be games that pushes both the PS5/XSX to its limits.
I know we will at some point have games that will be 1080p 30fps on both next-gen consoles..
what will happen to the S then? will those games be scaled down to 720p ?

1. A significant amount of the PS5 and Series X's power is already being wasted on chasing 4k
2. Talent and time is the limiting factor not the hardware.

The Series S is basically like taking a project that's targeting PS4 and then giving the devs another 4.2TF of GPU power, a night and day improvement in CPU power, Upping their drive speed limitation from 120MB/s to 2.3GBs, and giving them an extra 2.5GB of memory to play with. If devs can't produce fire on that then that's on them and not the hardware.

Probably and honestly that's not even a bad thing

You paid 300 dollars for a console back in 2020 and in 2024 while scaled back still performs.....not a bad deal imo

DLSS will probably have the upscale looking great either way.
