There was literally no reason to do this knowing it wasn’t going to pass. Biden out here looking like a fool and honestly? His presidency is over. You don’t get extra credit for trying hard. I’m baffled why they didn’t even try to do a bipartisan bill even if it was half assed. McConnell supports updating the voting bill that Trump tried to get Pence to subvert. Get that updated with 60 votes and call it a day. But they can’t do that now since they tried this nonsense.

These dudes constantly act like they have 55 Democrat senators. It’s wild. People are done with this president folks. Republicans don’t need to change laws at this point, they’re gonna win in landslides.

Biden is done but the Republicans don't have anyone who can run and win.

How do you figure that? Right now, going by the polls pretty much any Republican would win.

The best thing we can hope for is that Biden doesn't run again and Dems manage to find someone popular.

They could run Ted fukking Cruz against Biden and have a good chance at this point. :snoop:

All right, some of you need to calm down. :unimpressed:

Exactly yall over estimating the Republicans that party don't have shyt. Trump still got his hands over that party and there is no one that can replace him yet.

Do I think Dems could of did better besides Biden, probably but we have to win these states to help our dem presidents. I can see them pushing Kamala to the side and getting a Pete or the guy from Texas to be VP.

The reality is that Biden's agenda is extremely popular, even with republicans.

The issue that we're learning now is that Democrats can't get anything done without a massive supermajority, at least in the Senate. So no matter what Dem runs for president we're still in this exact spot unless Dems have 55+ seats in the Senate, and even that's not going to lead to very much.

:why:

not even you really believe that

There is certainly a nonzero number of viable republican candidates in 2024, and certainly one that can easily win the presidency. But I don't think it's any of the names people throw out.

People seriously overrate the appeal of Desantis and I don't see him winning. Tucker could rile up the base but he's not winning over moderates. Ted Cruz is a grade A BETA! and right wingers don't respect that, so he's not winning a primary. Hawley and Cotton are both :russell:.

A Republican in 2024 would need to be more of a Youngkin-type: someone who can come across as more agreeable moderate but deep down is another far-right lunatic.

Exactly it's all bullshyt. Plus when they start these hearings about Jan 6th and other folks go down don't be surprise the Republican party fractures. Mitch not going to be around forever to save them.

Bro DeSantis not it not yet. Republicans filled up with too much scandal and they not Trump. Democrats do have to step it up they are at fault completely.

If the election was today, DeSantis easily wins.
