You are smarter than this. You know damn well there are 6-8 Dem senators in the shadows who agree w/ Manchin and Sinema - Chris c00ns tentative ass being one of them.

They are not going rogue, they are just the face. The party sucks.
Looks like the future bills bout to have a lotta pork in them MFs

Or like a couple other people in here want, Tonya Harding’s people got a lot of visits to make :mjlit:

This is a math thing: The U.S. Remained Center-Right, Ideologically, in 2019

There are more conservatives than progressives, and a ton of moderates and center-right people. The country is too uneducated and selfish, even though they ideally might like certain ideas.

Progressives are a minority in America. To win, they need to compromise | Michael Lind :
"Not only are progressives a minority of American voters, they are also a minority of Democratic voters. According to Pew, in 2020 only 47% of Democrats described themselves as “liberal” or “very liberal”. The majority of Democrats are “moderate” (45%) or “conservative” (14%)."

It is no surprise we have a significant amount of Democratic moderates who are fine throwing all these policies away. They care more about getting elected than they do systemic change. They dgaf.

Of course, it's not all of Dem senators. But it's clearly enough.

*insert comment about how x% of people approve random progressive policy, while ignoring that those same people aren’t voting for the progressive candidates*

i think people are stuck in their silos on all sides and don’t realize that just because all your friends are progressive doesn’t mean the people that live 20 miles away from you are

the progressive YouTube echo chamber is just as walled off as the Q/ Fox echo chamber

This dude is quoting Michael Lind.

Yet he wonders why I disrespect him :heh:

We're not talking about that disaster of an interview Kamala gave? Again?

What the hell is she doing?
It's a new one!

I don't disagree, but it speaks more to those senators than anything. Medicare for All, for example, is popular across broad demographic groups. The only people who oppose it are donors.
Abortion restrictions, are not popular, even in parts of the south, and GOP pushes them anyway.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all but I can't help to wonder if Biden is setting Harris up to fail. If she fails at handling the border/immigration issue then that lands on her feet. He gave her responsibility over voting rights when he knows voting rights bills will not pass the Senate. If that blows up it may land on her feet.

It's obvious Kamala people and supporters in the DNC will push Biden not to run again after the midterms so Kamala can start her campaign, but if she has big failures on her resume then it damages her pretty badly and gives Biden a reason to run again.

There's still time. I think Biden's doing a solid job. The verdict is out on Madam Vice President.
Should have chosen someone else...

the government is legit afraid of prosecuting a president.

this is wild.
And the very reason we will continue circling the drain. The standard has been changed now; they know they can pretty much get away with anything.
I do often wonder if its doom and gloom FUD, and that the nation will continue to precariously exist as it has since inception..or if there is a critical point that has already been reached.
