The entire bipartisan schtick is a little off to be honest.

You can pass legislation that introduces initiatives that Republican voters like even if their representatives aren't acting in good faith.
Case and point. After the last piece of major legislation went through noteworthy contingent of Republicans went home touting parts of the bill.

No reason to believe infrastructure would be any different. T

So it’s June and these dudes are still running victory laps on doing one thing - the Covid bill from early this year. While getting the pandemic under control and masterfully rolling out vaccines is also impressive, it’s sort of like ensuring a toilet flushes properly: no one praises a plumber when shyt works like it should work, or praises him endlessly when he fixes a plumping problem. This is not a winning issue.

I’ve been quiet for awhile, content to let Manchin do his media campaign and make himself the center of all things. My assumption was that it was for show, and eventually he’d come to Jesus and we would do reconciliation. But the longer this drags on the more dangerous it becomes. Remember, Manchin’s initial position was that up to 4T in spending was fine and raising taxes was needed. He even said republicans rejecting any tax increases wouldn’t be fair. Now he’s essentially fine with republicans getting whatever they want.

He’s dug himself into a hole. If talks fail then he has to admit he’s not good at working with republicans. So he’s gonna keep extending this shyt. Democrats need to get something done NOW. I’ll give it to the end of June. After that, reconciliation and dare him to vote against it.
