Didn't even notice this thread the first time, I remember the rumors of his potential cabinet picks - and they turned out to be that, just rumors.
It’s not about keeping CEO’s in check, it’s about managing all financial and monetary matters for the Government. What experience does Warren have in that aspect? I don’t trust her at all.
She has some experience, and she has the right idea about how to deal with financial matters federally - the answers are typically incredibly obvious and have been laid out by experts for decades - the positions are usually just filled by morons who refuse to take the advice.
Apparently the jamie dixon stuff is fake news. Bernie team probably behind that
No, the rumors seem to have emerged within the financial industry it self - Dimon has recently taken on a position of advocating for "moderate policy" and not being a fan of Trump - wannabe finance billionaires think of him as a revolutionary, and that's the same group of people circling Young Dems across the country.
Biden’s Wall Street Pals Think They Have His Ear Despite Snubs

Corporatism hasn't stopped yet.
You have a blind hatred for her. When it comes to understanding economy, she is the smartest person in the room, 95% of the time. She has a "beautiful mind" type brain when it comes to numbers, it ain't just juelzing.
She's definitely not that good. But she is pretty smart. She'd be a solid pick.

I think what left leaning people need to do is come into this pretty cynically while also being realistic. Expect the most cookie cutter, status quo, symbolic gestures with much fewer material impacts...and accept that those moves will be miles better than what the Republicans have done when they have power throughout most of our lifetimes. Our vote is damage control and once Biden is in; we approach his administration with the skepticism the establishment has earned and we hold their feet to the fire on every damned issue. It probably still doesn't get us anywhere near what most lefties want at the end of the day; but I think we will be able to extract some nice compromises...the movement on the environmental plan and rhetoric gives me some hope that we can gain ground.
THe biggest thing is its time to hold people accountable.

This is all what we've already known. The same way they give into Wall Street, these are clearly CORPORATE dems over all else. They don't care about poor folk, black folk, rural folk....they care about their bank accounts, their vote banks, and their lobbyists. As long as we keep electing them, these are the policies we'll get.

Looks like Biden will choose that even though it will cost him in 2022....still the old wave of thinking that paying off your funders and filling your election coffers will somehow make up for fukking over your own supporters.
It will be the same “corporate/mega-donor first” mindset Democrats have had since Clinton’s first term. Once again Democrats will squander another opportunity to only appease the rich. Don’t be surprised if someone like Jamie Dimon is nominated for Treasury Secretary.

If Biden wins and Dems win Senate, we'll see the pressure we never saw in 2009. I hope :lupe:

It's crazy that it'll be the progressives who brought AOC into the fold versus the Lincoln Project types who brought Rick Wilson into the fold for which direction the Dems should move to get votes. I definitely think the pressure will be higher; I'm hoping they listen to the pressure from the left rather than the moderate right wingers.

The Senate is critical.

If Biden wins (and I don't think by any means this is guaranteed) but the GOP keeps the Senate, I don't see much of anything being passed other than some post-Trump damage control.
