shyt is embarrassing

the whole argument for illegals is that they do jobs. well if they werent doing a job, they should have left. not get a 15 thousand dollar check :mindblown: from a state thats fukking broke and taxes its residents higher than anywhere in america?
This was already discussed ad nauseum in the thread about it.
The bill covers those who would have qualified for the stimulus and unemployment benefits had they been citizens.

The argument for "illegals" is tied to the natural flow of people and capital that has been a mainstay of all modern economies for centuries now, and that there is a required amount of labor. Losing your job during an international pandemic doesn't mean you can suddenly re-uproot yourself with ease, and leave the country.

For those who are renting (which are the vast majority), and paying bills and debts, this also acts as a subsidy to the landlords, local businesses, and debtholders.

Poison pills to him = Nationwide affordable high speed internet, 500K electric charging stations across the US, money for electric vehicles, nursing homes, and manufacturing :mjlol:
Democrats should break the bill up and work on achieving a bipartisan compromise on the true infrastructure components, such as the repair of roads and bridges, first. Then the rest of the plan should be passed on an issue-by-issue basis, rather than a blanket label of infrastructure which is misleading, wrong, and counter productive... They should also start calling it a jobs bill and quit misleading people into thinking this is a infrastructure bill or really about infrastructure.
:manny:

...and in-home care, affordable housing programs, and electrical vehicle incentives are the poison pills imo.

“The one thing I can promise you is the U.S. government isn’t going to be handing out money or checks to people,” Jacobson said.

Mexico has proposed similar cash transfer programs as an option during recent meetings with U.S. envoys in Mexico City, a senior Mexican official said. The Mexican government has piloted such projects on a limited scale in Central America, modeled on cash grants it gives to the young unemployed and small farmers, a key pillar of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s domestic welfare programs.

The Times reported that Biden is considering breaking up the bill -

1.) bipartisan bill on the traditional infrastructure stuff (feather in his cap on his bipartisanship promise)
2.) everything else done w/ reconciliation.
