People are being hyperbolic when they say you need to go t-5 or bust. You don't. You can get a perfectly respectable legal education at many law schools in the nation. Don't fall prey to the manufactured prestige of some programs, do not be lured by a certain status a school or program may say they have.

You're right about it being manufactured prestige. If you go to any law school you're likely to get about the same education as what you'd get at a top 5 school. But the point remains, the manufactured prestige DOES dictate your job prospects, even though you learned the same thing. Do a google search on whether or not the prestige matters and you will be VERY hard press to find a source that contradicts that sentiment.

If you go to a middle of the pack law school you can get a job but only if you graduate at the very top of your class or if you happen to have really good connections. I'm talking about the kind of connections where you already know who you'll work for before you even start law school.

It all started with a linguistics major from a shyt school and then an MBA in literature or some shyt..then eventually a JD at one of Canada's best. Shes only 35 probably making 250+K

fukk a degree...determine what you want do what must be done to get it.

There are liberal arts majors from Harvard that are doing the shyt I wanna do at Investment Banks. None of this shyt matters except networking.

Breh, with a BA, JD and MBA, she better be making dough.

You can study just about anything at Harvard and land an elite gig. Just takes networking.

The same cannot be said about State U.

Honestly, I'd say only do liberal arts if you have a specific plan on what you want to do with it (such as go into law, teach, or study abroad) or if you have a job lined up. Graduating with a liberal arts degree and no experience and just hitting the job market is pretty damn rough. Had an ex girlfriend who majored in Political Science and she was substitute teaching part time for years after graduating. :to:

If you're worried about higher level math, you could always do something like a business degree, which is more marketable.

If you want to understand the world as we know it, get a liberal arts degree..if you want to be a drone in society a technical degree is for you..
So when you have a family and you're trying to provide them with the best opportunities I guess you're ok with making 35k a year vs 60k.
