I checked one of my leagues today and 3 potential starters were sitting on the waiver wire. I grabbed Kevin Smith for Jahvid Best...Alex Green for my kicker...Royster for LaFell.

Add those 3 with Beanie Wells and thats my bench.

Starters are:
QB- Big Ben
RB- Reggie Bush, LeSean McCoy
WR- Hakeem Nicks, Andre Johnson
Flex- Mike Wallace
TE- Finley
DEF- Pats

Fella's, one thing I forgot to mention yesterday for draft prep that I feel makes a HUGE difference, although you have to take the information with a grain of salt to make an informed choice...

When tiering your players and deciding what rank to list them in, STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE is a huge deciding factor, for me anyway. Now, people shouldn't chase last years stats, HOWEVER, in terms of overall team defense stats, the numbers generally don't move far in one direction albeit there are always some exceptions like Houston last year. That being said, if I can't decide between two players, I always checke the strength of schedule to see how they match up there and usually the person with the better schedule wins out. Don't worry about getting a good schedule during the playoffs, if your players are doing their thing then they will be at that point too. NFL.com has a great SOS list and they break it down by position, basically looking at which team def had the worst pass def for QB's and WR's and worst run def for RB's.

I think Big Ben kills it this year, especially with the running game potentially being thrown in the bushes with Mendenhall still healing.

I had Bush last year, and he was good, but I would expect him to return to Saints level production, and not a 1000 yard back like he was last year, if only for the fact that Daniel Thomas will steal more carries away this year. McCoy is a beast, nuff said.

Hakeem, if he can stay healthy, should have a better year then last, as there is one less mouth to feed in the pass and running attack.

I love Dre Johnson, but this dude turned from the number 1 WR in the league, too Mr gets hurt at least two games every year...

Risky taking Wallace, I'm assuming you got him late? Might pay off, but I'm still hurting from the year CJ2K held out and came back and played like crap :sadbron:

Don't mean to flood the thread :heh: but I wanted to mention one last thing.

When drafting, I try and minimize risk as much as possible. That being said, I try to avoid: rookies, players with a pattern of getting injured or a lengthy injury history, and players coming off significant injuries. Now that might limit the available pool of players, and there's no gaurentee that if you do this, that the unrisky player you took doesn't do a Tom Brady impression and get hurt within the first few plays of the first game of the season. However, I'd rather have a guy that only has a 25% chance of that happening, as opposed to a guy that has a 55% chance of it happening because of their injury history.

Don't get it twisted, all advice must be measured and if All Day or Jamaal Charles fell to like the 3rd round, then I'm taking that risk. Same with rookies that have the potential to make an immediate impact like Julio, AJ Green, Cam Newton etc. This principle is something to consider when drafting, but you shouldn't handicap yourself by adhering to it strictly.

I kind of like Reggie again this season. Daniel Thomas stinks.

And I mentioned earlier, Ahmad Bradshaw is healthy...I expect 1100 and 10.

So everyone likes Bush?

Note to self: Don't pick Bush (not like I would anyway)

I said it in a previous post, I expect him to return to a Saints level of production, which is RB3/flex numbers. :yayo:

Even if he gets the carries, he's one of the most brittle players out there. I'm still surprised he didn't get injured last year, with the increased workload he saw.

I just look at is as Miami sucks and I don't think Reggie puts up :wow: stats to begin with on a good team. I'd rather take a chance on someone then pick someone who I assume will be marginal at that point in the draft. I'm a high risk high reward kind of guy.

That's why people who ask who to pick it he first two rounds are crazy to me, you can't really screw it up unless you really reach for a guy that is unneccessary. But pick who you want to pick because you won't have a shot with him later. You "win" your draft in the 4th-8th rounds. That's where you want to pick the best player available on your list. Not I need to pick a RB because I already picked a WR. Not this guy is being drafted here or he is the next best ranking according to yahoo.

You make your list based on who you think will score the most points week in and week out. I will be making a thread about setting a lineup with this in mind later, but you pick who will put up the most points.

I look at it is as Miami sucks and they're going to get their best player the ball. He's their only playmaker. As they lose games, he'll be fed the ball. He put up great numbers last year and even if he gets injured, he provides great value where he's being drafted.

So wouldn't that make him the number one target of the defense? Take him out and the game's over. Harass him, push him around... shyt, hit him hard once and he quits. I see maybe when they are losing and passing they will check down to him at the end of the game. Yay

He's been lining up as a WR in the Dolphins offense. He's not really being lined up to check down anymore. He'll get all the touches. He proved last season if healthy that he can be a capable back. I'd take that in the 5th round.
