2013 and folks still don't get it. This wasn't a speech to blacks, or Moorehouse Grad. He may have talked to them.. but he was addressing his white supporters and corporate backers. This was a speech to appease the status quo and white power structure. He is telling blacks folks what white folks wanna hear. And you fools fall for it every time.

Obama is skillful politician. Every public appearance and speech carefully crafted since he got in office. Look at how the media is reporting this. It's just another attack piece on blacks for them with the talking points supplied by Obama himself. Do you think the administration didn't anticipate the media response to this before hand? Where is the celebration of black excellence and the achievements of these young men who graduated? Have they not earned it if not just for one day? I guess the media and Obama cant have black men feeling to good about themselves. It might motivate them too much. They might start rocking the boat.
Had you read the damn transcript, maybe you would have seen how he continuously praised black excellence. Another nikka who read the headlines and fall in for the bait. :snoop:

You, Meach, Bar, IgSaint, and others are biased as fukk when it comes to Obama. Anyone with any common sense can see that.

You're just drones through and through.

I differ with Vic on a lot about Obama, but he isn't a drone. I actively see him criticize the President on important issues.

You on the other hand? Some posters already know what you're going to say before you say it.

You can keep that Election Rhetoric for the voters. I don't buy that shyt. It isn't a hate fest when I told you the superb job he has done on equal rights by pushing LGBT equality policies which I feel is to be applauded. I'm not going to sit by and let Meach make up shyt though because he has anecdotal tales.

At the end of the day, the boss behind the most destructive force to African-American progression is the President. He leads the War on Drugs, as he directs the DOJ and DEA. That has nothing to do with Bush or Republicans.
The mistake your making here is that the black unemployment rate can't be fixed through legislation. All the stats you brung up to "prove" he hasn't done anything for black Americans can't be fixed through legislation from a president regardless of who he is or what legislation he pushes through. The lgbt issue is easy. They want to get married, that can be legislated. You can't legislate black jobs. Hell he hasn't been able to legislate jobs for anyone. But if you look at what he has legislated it has all been black people/middle class friendly. You are being dishonest if you claim you don't see that.

Just like you can't. No one can answer the question. "What could/should he have done for black people"

How exactly is the war on drugs "destructive" to AAs?

Are you serious?

Blacks make up less than 15% of drug users but compromise more than 35% of drug arrests. Black Americans serve as much time in federal prison for drug offenses and whites do for violent offenses. You have police who use the Drug War to actively apply illegal frisk/search policies and activities, unlawfully targeting black men for being black. Black families are torn apart, leading to circumstances where the father is not present.

A lot of these issues are directly related to the War on Drugs and the P.I.C.

Japan, but from the 989
I'm still under the impression that we are on our own and always have been. I like Obama but I don't expect shyt from him or his administration when it comes to Black America. He is in office to take care of everyone else, not us. It's time we started figuring that out and doing things on our own.

Brah, you were just in here spewing that the auto bailouts, stimulus provided jobs and were geared towards black Americans. Now you're changing your tune?

Which is it?

You haven't contributed a single post of substance. Not one single fact.

All dikkriding, as expected.

This is a thread about Obama and the black community but I bet your ass can't name shyt he could feasibly do for our community. You just in here to throw salt and bring up other topics to support your Obama hate. Take that shyt elsewhere.

With all due respect... in America perception is all that matters. How you are perceived by others and how you perceive yourself. There is a war on the black male psyche.

Without the auto bailouts, stimulus, ect. Black unemployment and the wealth gap would be much worse. You're acting like black people are not subject to the same economy as everyone else. When the economy is down black people suffer like everyone else when the economy flourishes we do better. This is a historical truth with or without Obama.

I only say these policies were geared torward black people because "black problems" are synonymous with lower/middle class issues. Go read up on any non-partisan analysis of these policies and they will tell you, the economy would be much worse without these policies.

bytch, I actually offered some real solutions echoing what prominent African American scholars have argued for.

You got a google alert when someone challenges your daddy? You're a fukking clown. Not a single post here of any true substance.

Just ask that mufukka what policies he would suggest to lower black unemployment and poverty and move on.

Again though, what you said does NOT match the figures. The Wealth gap has increased between whites and blacks, white unemployment has gone done while black unemployment has gone up.
