He had three club bangers on his debut album

Focus , Pump it up and Fire, he even had the joint with 112 that was dope

He had shyt like this on the album

Even if the album didn't blow him up MM2 should have, to be honest that tape was just as good as section 80 and so far gone and some of the dope tapes that have came out the past few years, before anybody comes in with the personality stuff this is before the joe budden tv and alll that shyt

He def should have been bigger

Buddens is big on the net but he doesn't have a big West Coast following. Most people out here think he's the weakest in Slaughterhouse as well. Although I think he cool most everybody that comes in and out my studio thinks he's corny and wack. He's Wat u call a regional artist.

def jam was billing him as they answer to 50 around that time and we all saw how that turned out... curtis is top ten trash of all time to make it to the level he has but at least he got charisma enuff to keep folk entertained, this is the entertainment biz after all

A Mississippi Cotton Field

so he says...

but Ima be honest. Joey's first album wasn't all that. had a few bangers, but you can't make Pump It Up 16 times.

Also, raw, honest (what nikkas call emo) music will get you a huge and dedicated cult following, but unless you're in some rock band or whatever, it's never gonna equal to sales. Look at ZRo.

and while the hip hop demographic may be able to relate to "losers" or whatever, they sure don't act like it. "Nas Lost", sure. But listening to the way he portrays himself in his music, how can you tell?

This is coming from a Joe Budden "stan" who feels he's prolly only 2nd to Nas.

SINY!!
Why his career never took off?

-He wasn't charismatic enough to hold anyones attention, despite the fact that as a writer and lyricists hes superior to most in hip-hop.

-Personality-wise, it just always seemed like he had this sense of entitlement and it probably burned a lot of bridges/turned people off......industry people who could and might have helped him get to "that guy" status. He's bi-polar, has often been confrontational at times, takes every slight personally....just a lot of Ls
