All released before IWW. Nas was following a trend with that album. I like the album, I like Nas but let's call a spade a spade.

Reasonable Doubt was a week before IWW
Nas was rapping as Escobar on ob4cl

Ready to die a mafiaso album? :russ:

Come on son

think about what I said.

Some nikkas get legit sad/mad when they find out Ross or some other rapper wasn't really living the life they were rapping about. They almost take it personal like now they gotta rethink their approach on life or some sh*t.

What if it turned out Lil Waynes tattoos were all fake? You know how many sad people out here it would be b/c they went and got tatts all over their neck/hands etc solely b/c Wayne did it.

This is why.

Ross actually believes the shyt he says and is lost in his own deluded fantasy world. That nikka incepted his own brain and really believes the shyt he says is real. I bet he'd swear on a stack of bibles that he dabbles in tons of cocaine and wins awards for "wacking" nikkas. fukking pathetic.

Kool G Rap pioneered the mafioso shyt but Raewkon popularized it. G Rap was never on top of the world like Wu was in the mid 90s, so Rae pushed that content to the forefront. Nas himself said he got the mafia Escobar shyt from Wu-Tang.

But yeah, G Rap is basically the origin of it.

I think this verse explains it pretty well:

Y'all don't know about my Biggie wars
Who you thought 'Kick In The Door' was for?
But that's my heart, y'all still trippin of this Jigga shyt
Real nikkas listen up and I'mma tell you how the whole thing start
Off top I brung Queens up from hard times
Rockin at the Fever, streets was all mine
It was my version of the blues, droppin our schools
The crack epidemic had rap representin new rules
So I, got in em shoes, tried em wore them
Wasn't a perfect fit, so I couldn't sport em
Young murderers ride, I knew all them
Jungle got shot, Will died, we was warring
I wrote it in my album
I was 18 when Lake seen the Island
And Lord held me down and
My surroundings started changing
I had a baby, I was making my rounds with AZ
nikkas started noticing my flow and was open when
The Golden Child closed em in with more style than them older men
Puff tried to start a label, Prince Rakeem had formed Wu-Tang
Snoop and Dre had a new thang
So Puff drove his new Range through Queensbridge Projects
He let me drive it, before Ready to Die hit
BIG and I hit blunts performing at the Arc
Next thing you knew, BIG blew and all the balling starts
He had Kim and his crew, I found Fox, only nikkas in New York with number
One charts
BIG was ahead of his time, him and Raekwon my nikkas
But dig it, they couldn't get along
That's when Ghostface said it on the Purple tape
Bad Boy biting Nas album cover way(?)
BIG told me Rae was stealing my slang
And Rae told me out in Shaolin BIG would do the same thing
But I borrowed from both them nikkas
Jigga started to flow like us, but hit with 'Ain't No nikkas'
Had much Versace swagger
BIG admired the Brooklyn knight and it took him in as Iceberg the rapper
Today don't know nothing, about this bullshyt
There's more shyt than wanting to be this King of New York shyt

Something else I need to point out is this song:

Where Nas flat out tells people all that drug kingpin Escobar mafia shyt was just a persona not to be taken seriously.

Well then they're just a bunch of dumbfukks, the same dumbfukks that shaved their heads when they were trolled by an internet rumor, and thought that Justin Beiber had cancer. :dead:

Nobody was mad about Ross not being able to demand favors from the real Noreaga. How that whole exposal went down was more comedy than anything lol.

people can say Nas clearly wasn't some big time drug dealer
but at least we know he did SOMETHING in the streets
Jay ?
Big ?
Nas ?
They may have exaggerated (a lot of rappers do for the sake of drama)
but these dudes really lived it and did it :yeshrug:

Ross on the other hand is cool to listen to but he has some blatant
bullsh1t in his music
I was listening to Port of miami the other day and some of the sh1t he
says is :ohhh: :wow: .

I come away from Big, Nas and Jay albums knowing a little more about them
and how they operate, sh1t they had to endure and the dreams they've accomplished.

I walk away from a Ross record thinking "well he likes crab meats, cars and aggressive content"
And don't get me wrong, I like Rick Ross, I just expect rappers to drop the front in interviews, I still
when I see that interview where dude blatantly denied being C.O. and I still  at the thought of him not knowing who the guy he got his name from is.

And to be honest @Capitol has exhibited some pretty sh1t opinions on this website. :yeshrug:
