It contains passages and teachings that can be interpreted as “anti black” by the reader and reflects the culture of the time
It’s really an overall theme but a simple google search will give you examples such as:
concerning the dream of the Prophet (ﷺ) in Medina: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I saw (in a dream) a black woman with unkempt hair going out of Medina and settling at Mahai'a. I interpreted that as (a symbol of) the epidemic of Medina being transferred to Mahai'a, namely, Al-Juhfa."
The Quran says that people who will go to heaven will turn white and that people who will go to hell will turn black (Surah 3:106 - Surah 3:107).
On the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black. As for those whose faces turn black, [to them it will be said], "Did you disbelieve [i.e., reject faith] after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to reject.
Muhammad analogized Satan's appearance to that of a black man.
Ibn Ishaq, p. 243: 'Whoever wants to see Satan, let him look at Nabal b. al-Harith!' He was a sturdy black man with long flowing hair, inflamed eyes, and dark ruddy cheeks.
Muhammad owned black slaves and valued them less than white/ Arab slaves.
Sunan an-Nasa'i, The Book of Financial Transactions, 4625: A slave came and gave his pledge to the Messenger of Allah to emigrate, and the Prophet did not realize that he was a slave. Then his master came looking for him. The Prophet said: 'Sell him to me.' So he bought him for two black slaves, then he did not accept the pledge of anyone after that until he asked: 'Is he a slave?'
I’d feel uncomfortable reading these verses as a Muslim but that’s just me
Some others might not have a problem. And they could even interpret it differently. But it’s there undeniably
I don’t like it. Am I allowed to say it this?
This is my perspective….. but what do I know? And im not a Muslim so it’s not my problem
