How much do you keep in your checking account?

I keep less than $1000 in my checking, significantly more in my savings. I try to purchase EVERYTHING with my credit card and use my savings account to pay it off. I use cash for places that don't take cards. I pretty much never write checks...really, the only checks I write is taxes, so I'll transfer that money over right before writing the check.
