Same here as far as the 2 accounts but for the bills one, I keep the exact amount for the bills and I have a set amount for spending as well. Anything over that amount goes to my savings or I put towards debt.

So calculated I swear everyone should be like you when it comes to finance.

I'm already out of college. I've partook and then some. I loved my time in college, but that doesn't mean that I won't criticize the system and its failings.

To answer OP's question, I keep about $1000 in one bank and a little bit in my other banks and i have a lot of checking and savings account and CDs lol. I dont like to keep my eggs in one basket.

I keep about $100 after bills are paid and the rest in savings. If I really need cash, I just transfer using my phone. Helps in the event my card is stolen.

Our bills generally come up to a little under 2K a month, so anything extra we either move it or save it for the next month (if we know we are going to be a little over for that month).
