Five star post right here
Other Coli posters who don't know: until relatively recently Mormon doctrine said that the reason people had black skin was they were created by Satan and not God or were cursed for following Satan during the Star Wars shyt that happened before everyone came to earth or some shyt like that
Mormons crazy in general they also believe black people are evil.
I used to see these Mormon cats around the hood back in Brooklyn; they stood out like sore thumbs with their short sleeved white shirts and lil name badges. I had bought this BYU cap because I liked the logo, with the cougar crawling across the "BYU". So one day I'm posted up by the parking lot of my building, waiting for my niigga to pick me up so we can ride out to Staten Island to play ball. I see these Mormon cats walking up the block toward me, and as they get closer, I see their eyes light up. I forgot I had the cap on, and so they roll up, point to the cap, and they're like "Go Cougars, right?"
I give them the
look back and set them straight: "Nah, I just like the logo"... So they press further and ask if I'm interested in the school. I cut to the chase and hit them with "Don't ya'll believe that black people are cursed?" They stammered some reply and kept it moving. I honestly didn't know much about Mormons so I did some reading and got more in depth about how they got down. I saw that they had "adjusted" their views because there was a risk of teams boycotting them because of their beliefs. I think that even if you want to join and you're black, you can't become like a deacon or elder or whatever. But I have seen them trot out Thurl Bailey, who used to play for the Jazz, in their commercials. He's some kind of Mormon spokesman for them.
How does BYU get black athletes to go to that school?
Interesting article on that from Deadspin back in the day. It still fascinates me how even after this information was made available, they still get minorities to sign up for that. Basically they trot out the white girls, make the brehs think it's all good, that the honor code won't apply to them, and then once they get there, bait and switch.
