Just started the gym late February, missed last week because of car issues. Anyway I been going this week, going again today. I been flabby since high school because I was never athleticI'm 6' 286lbs 30% body fat, definitely trying to cut.
I'm only doing 1 plate to make sure my form right. Tried 185 for the hell of it and did 8 reps and it was alright. I'm thinking about seeing how many times I can do 225. That way when the guys ask me how much can I bench I can claim 225, which is respectable. I don't tell anybody I'm doing 135, folks would start a roast session.

Bench is easily the best for chest strength and size...
I rotate between barbell and dumbells...I like dumbells better cuz I just feel them more, especially on incline presses but that's just me...
LOL. Nothing funnier than cats who waste their time bench pressing.
I only do weighted pushups and weighted dips and my chest has blown up like crazy the past few months. But go on and keep pushing a piece of metal up and down thinking it'll give you better gains.

I know. Weighted pushups are superior for chest activation.
Last January I hit 225 10x.
Last September I hit 235 11x.
(These were AMRAP sets and not intentional 225 rep-outs.)
Current 1 rep is only 320, so prolly not more than 11 or 12.![]()
