How Many Prequels/Origin Stories Actually Strengthened Or Improved A Franchise?

Prometheus was actually far better than Alien 4.

And if reboots count, "Batman Begins" is my favorite Batman movie.

It was,but Prometheus set out to explain the interesting mysteries of the alien franchise and it ended up making it worse because the mystery was better than some out of control android playing god.

I kind of misread what you were saying. I see what you mean that a better movie doesn't necessarily make the *franchise* better after it.

I wanna see a Total Recall prequel chronicling Hauser, Richter, and the other guy's adventures in the agency/academy training (assuming they went through that)

You know they go back cause Richter was a dikk to everybody but him

Those prequels were terrible, make a henchman level villian, the hero and the face of your franchise brehs
First Class was still good though. But I agree with the disdain for Mystique. They did the same thing with Wolverine in the earlier movies.
