How many people work out not to get in great shape, but just to not get fat?

Yeah I workout just because I don’t want to get fat Again. I never realized how bad my diet was until I quit my warehouse job(and got a even more higher paying job). My diet actually wasn’t bad because the frequency of my meals were actually fat apart in a day but I ate a lot of junk sometimes but I was active and I did package handling in the warehouse as a side job. I didn’t realize how much that job enabled me to eat what it want. I left but my homeboy stayed and me and him used to work together in the same area because we worked at the same pace and tempo. He wore one of those fitbits one night(was a gift for his birthday that played music) and saw that he burned over 1000 calories. When he told me earlier this year I was like:ohhh:. lol no wonder I was always slim and then once I left that job I started to add in weight: the correlation never occurred to me. I missed those days. Now I got to watch what I eat and it’s hard for me to get to the gym like I want with my girl always blowing me up because of our kid or something. another correlation in notice is I was in the beat shape of my life when we broke up and soon as we got back together I got :flabbynsick: instantly. :beli:

the older you get the more your appetite grows.

im not trying to be ripped to shreds...just keep a decent shape and look good in a suit/t shirt.

If I dont hit the gym, I start getting lax w/ my diet and get that skinny fat look.

Trying to look like a fitness model takes too much time/energy, and when youre on the other side of 30 you should be focused on your finances...
...im not about to be in the gym more than an hour when I could be out making some money.

At the end of the day nobody cares how ripped a man is...as long as youre not :flabbynsick: and have some money youre good.

That's not true.

If you 're ripped AND have money then that's the way to be

there is a reason those two attributes rarely go together...
...both take a lot of time to accomplish...one has to give.

Unlike women, mens value isnt judged on his physique, but how much money he makes.

Because men with money get laid easily without having to be in shape.

Eating healthy & hitting the gym one hour a day isnt too much work.

Women these days care about how you look too. We been lied to that women dont care about how you look like

I don’t think you have to “work out” in a sense to get into shape, unless you want to approach it aggressively. Even to lose weight.

I feel like “working out” has always been a measure of a man, or woman’s, endurance under pressure. But, to be health, you don’t have to push your endurance, per say, just move and be active and eat healthy. It’s just most of our lives arent designed to find healthy solutions.

but, it’s healthy to push your limits from time to time, to clear your mind

but I think of a lot of health and fitness along the lines of natural movements instead of structured forms. So, when I see a gym and all those machines, dumbbells, etc, I’m really curious as to how people feel like that’ll help them in the real world and against real world obstacles

you can get strong, yeah, but is the activity “functional” in a sense? That’s how you learn to control your body and extend natural factors that you wouldn’t achieve in an HIIT session.

I mostly try to use it for a better way of dealing with some mental stress and anxiety, and it gives me a sense of routine. Being able to eat without dread is just an added benefit.:ehh:

The aesthetic portion for me is just a personal challenge/goal, I'm ugly gang I don't really get any social benefits from that. :yeshrug:
