Breh society as we know it is held together by stories from the Bible :pachaha: The most significant tech inventions of the century, including the phones in our hands and pockets, were inspired by nikkas that read sci fi. I can go on and on

The issue is the way y'all talk about fiction in this passive aggressive way. "I don't view either to be particularly bad" while in the same statement implying that reading fiction is unproductive.

The people that run the world got far more knowledge and inspiration from stories than they did from a self help book that says the same thing the last 30 self help books say.

Imagination is a significant metric of intelligence and there's no better training for imagination than reading fiction
Yeah I wasn't trying to come off as passive aggressive I genuinely don't see anything wrong with reading fiction or non fiction books. How do you suggest I word that better so it wont come off as passive aggressive in the future to you? Still would like for you to give some examples of these stories that are more profound and useful in our daily lives than non-fictional books.

If that’s what you like to do, good for you. I literally started my statement saying I don’t knock those who do. I’m not reading a story with the hopes of finding the metaphorical lesson when I can read a nonfiction book directly related to that topic I’m seeking to learn.
Yeah home boy did the same thing to me I said I dont see a problem reading either . Feels like hes aruging for no reason

I already mentioned our laws being born from stories from the Bible and your iphone wouldn't exist without Star Trek:manny:
