At the end of the day, everyone should try to be better everyday. And that doesn't mean having a better job, or a better education necessarily. In my opinion, getting better everyday means doing things that facilitate a higher quality of life as judged by the person living it. If you like to do art, then do art, even if that means you're poorer than you would be if you would have used your creativity to be an entrepreneur or marketer. If you like engineering, then do math and be the best engineer you can be. And while you're doing that, don't forget to do the things that make your life worthwhile and enjoyable. Engage in your hobbies, spend quality time with friends and family, love and be loved, and enjoy life as best you can.
A lot of money and degrees is not necessarily a vehicle to a higher quality of life, even if that means you make more money and have more "stuff." Instead, focus on what makes you happy (as long as it's not destructive, or self-destructive), and do your best to create a life that allows you to live the way you want to live.
That's how I feel about it anyway.
