Never. I remember a friend of mines told me when he was little his grandfather was in a nursing home. He had both his legs amputated and was going blind. His kids came to see him and he was crying because some nurse was rough with him, screaming and cursing at him for pissing on himself. Problem is, he was going blind so he didn't know what the nurse looked like. Don't know if they ever got the nurse but I do know his kids went off in that hospital and had to be escorted out.

Its not a option and will never be a option

I love my parents too much to ever let that happen.

They'll both stay with me before that is even a thought

Unless it's a top-notch facility, I'll take care of them if it ever gets to that point.

A bunch of Mamas boys and Daddy's girls in this thread...throw they old asses in a nursing home and let the county deal with it..

I'll be somewhere chilling on a beach drinking a Capri sun with no worries whatsoever

Yeah I don't know. My mom passed away earlier this year but my dad is in pretty good condition. He never had to take any maintenance meds, had a bout with prostate cancer but had it removed and is doing well. If he's in a condition where he can't take care of himself properly then I would definitely consider him living with me but as someone said earlier I have to work so he would be at the house/apartment unattended. Depending on his situation he might not like that or want that. I would have to talk it over with him. I've heard horror stories about some of those homes but I've visited a few of the upscale places in my area that we deliver prescriptions to and they don't seem half bad. They have a pretty decent amount of freedom and the living area is like a moderate size one bedroom apartment with a lot of facilities such as exercise rooms, dining hall, etc. One even had a ball room for live entertainment. It would be up to him though.

I think its a cultural thing. Most Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians don't have a problem with there parents living with them cuz they probably grew up in a big family and its not stigmatized. I got five other siblings and it's pretty much a guarantee that one of us will have to take care of our parents when they get old. Just remember someday your gonna have kids and be in the same situation.
