Blogs and gossips have taken over
I wouldn't say dead, there are still people who went to school for it or are otherwise qualified doing dope shyt.

But the game is def suffering under the weight of vapidity and society's fixation on perspective. Just like any other creative exploit, it's too easy to screencap some tweets or make a free wordpress ranting about your top 5 and call yourself a blogger in your social bio. shyt is oversaturated and the outlets that are projected are at times (aka often) too fixated on money to care about substance. And they're rarely gonna condemn themselves.

So as a writer you trade off the ease of access with the amount of underqualified people taking advantage of that access. Same shyt with Hip-hop itself.
