How is legislating out celebrations in sports not racist?

You are actually proving the argument that punishment for celebrations is in part racist. Soccer, especially in Europe is still majority white, hence the reason there is little to no punishment for celebration. Punishments are only brought in when you want to "control" the image of your sport.

:comeon: Do you think they would let brothas get away with in the middle of a game in majority black sports like football and basketball?

It'd be a 15 yard penalty for any player no matter what race in football.

That gif is obviously from another country where rules and public perception of celebration may be different.

:what:

Why do people like yourself constantly deny racial intent unless its explicitly expressed? Does the NFL have to have "niccers cannot celebrate" written in their bylaws, before you admit racial bias? The league is predominately black (and those who engage in td celebrations even more so) --- read between the lines and show some critical thinking here.

instead of having a roundtable discussion about it, how hard is it for these players to just NOT excessively celebrate, though? doesn't that seem like an easy solution?

That's the thing, celebrations were cool. People loved the Icky shuffle and all that shyt, some dudes just took it to the next level.

Joe Horn hiding a cell phone in the goal post?
TO standing on the star 50 yards downfield from the TD?

shyt like this ruined it for everybody. In no other sport is that a reasonable celebration, imagine a dude hit a HR, walked the bases and autographed the bat at home plate. Or if LBJ hits a three grabs the ball and autographed it haha

What I think is fukked up is that the league bans team celebrations, that's bullshyt. To me that's a great thing showing the beauty of football, the ultimate team game and a team celebration shows the closeness of the team. They need to change that

They told Jared Allen he couldn't do the lasso celebration after sacks anymore.

They're not telling athletes you can't celebrate, you just can't showboat.. I don't think it's a racially motivated thing.
