Anthony Davis has quickly become the most overrated player in the NBA. primarily by folks who don't watch basketball and only see box scores. his stats are nice. but they don't tell the whole game.

I like Davis but he has huge holes he needs to fix. Most importantly his lack of a post-game. You can't be a dominant big in my book and simply rely on 18 foot jump shots, dives from pick n rolls, putbacks, and fast break points to score buckets.

even Dirk for all the grief he got as a jump shooter can get buckets from the post.

all the greats have commanded double teams. either from the post or on the perimeter. This is Davis' glaring weakness right now. And its the main reason his team isn't as good as the elites out west.

he's an all-star. and a great player. but i say he's overrated cause of talk like this. he ain't top 3 or top 5. right now I have him at the bottom of my top 10. and largely cause of his freakish athletic ability.

you can't be top 3 and have a team barely above .500. and lets not act like the Pelicans don't have talent. Asik, Evans, Holiday, Anderson....those are all quality nba players. they also had eric gordon earlier this year. if Davis is top 3, he should have a team with this much talent contending but they ain't. why is that? cause like I said earlier. Davis lacks a post game and doesn't command double teams. so he doesn't make his teammates better. its the main reason they are .500.

compare his crew to the crew Demarcus Cousins got. Cousins has less help but had pretty much the same record a couple of weeks ago before he missed all those game. why was that? cause Boogie is a dominant big with a post gme that can command double teams. that allows his teammates to perform at a higher level. if Davis is to become top 3, he needs to get a post game. Otherwise he'll just be another Kevin Garnett. Great numbers but not significant playoff runs.

Before the virus infection, Cousins had his team with a better record eventhough he had less talent around him. why was that?

its cause Boogie has a post game and commands double teams. Davis right now doesn't command double teams. So while he can get his cause of his freakish athletic ability, he doesn't really make his teammates better. its the reason the Pelicans were able to beat the Cavs and almost beat the Warriors without Davis present. its the reason they're barely a playoff team with him.

to me anthony davis looks like a modern Kevin Garnett minus KG's passing ability. freak athletes. guard handles. dominant defenders. sick jump shots. HOWEVER, both don't wanna bang down low with the big boys. and that was the main reason KG's teams in Minnesota never amounted to much. KG didn't make em better cause he didn't command double teams in the post consistently. davis looks like that right now. hopefully he develops a post game. because otherwise, he ain't gonna be leading no one to deep playoff runs.

He's been pretty thorough and analytical in deciding his post-kobe retirement stanning target. I think the big money's on westbrook since he plays like an even more psycho version of kobe.

It's strange though since fagnificient has routinely criticized post players for being boring :JJ:
